Finish a Marathon...Kid Style!

Saturday, January 17, 2009 - Tempe, AZ

Finishing a marathon is child's play with the Phoenix Children's Hospital Kids Rock - a one-mile fun run for children ages 6-12. This non-competitive, non-timed event is all about having fun and making it to the finish line.

Participants can become full marathon finishers by completing a 25.2-mile training program prior to January 17th, or they can just run, walk or jog the one-mile course on race day. Every child is a winner and will be rewarded with an official race number, T-shirt, goodie bag, free headliner concert and medal - just for finishing!

Registration Information

$25 Individual - grades K-6 (until 10/31/08)
$20 Group Registration (group of 20 or more, price/person) - grades K-6 (until 10/31/08)
Entry includes: Official Race Number, T-shirt, Finisher's Medal, free Headliner Concert and Goodie Bag
Race day registration is not available

Each age group race is limited to 500 participants and will close when full. Online registration and hard copy entry forms will be accepted until each individual grade group race is closed.

Group Registration

Teachers, coaches, youth leaders-grab your kids and save!! Groups of 20 or more can save $5 off each individual entry fee! Group registration is easy and available both online and through mail registration. Hard copy entries must be mailed in together. For hard copy entries please call 800-311-1255.

Start Line and Finish Area

The Phoenix Children's Hospital Kids Rock start line has moved, the new start line is located on Rio Salado Parkway, just west of Mill Avenue. The finish line has also moved, the new location is located just off of Packard Dr, right in front of ASU's Sun Devil Stadium. There is plenty of free parking near the kid's finish. All parking lots are no more than a 10 minute walk to the Start or Finish. Please be aware of your start time and plan for some traffic delays. It is best to arrive one hour before your race begins.

The Final Mile

Kids will enjoy the final mile of their marathon on a new race route and new day! Participants can rock out with with live entertainment and relish in the glory as they cross the finish line. There, kids will receive a hard-earned finisher's medal and be able to feast on healthy post-race refreshments.

Do you like to draw? Are you already registered?
Send us your artwork and you could be chosen as the designer of the PCH Kids Rock Participant T-shirt. Create your design on white letter size (8 ½” x 11”) paper, preferably not glossy. Use markers, crayons, and paints – just make sure it’s creative and neat.
Then pop it in the mail to PCH Kids Rock (address below):

Phoenix Children’s Hospital Kids Rock
Modified Marathon Training Program

Let Phoenix Children’s Hospital help rock your child to the finish line with their Kids Rock Modified Marathon Training Program. A free modified marathon training program specifically designed for children ages 6-12. Participants will learn nutrition and fitness tips and individually follow a running or walking program.

Race Number, T-shirt, and Goodie Bag Pick-up

Let the fun begin at the free Health & Fitness Expo. Kids can pick up all their race essentials, including race numbers, T-shirts, and goodie bags, plus check out over 100 exhibitors sampling and selling the latest in health and nutrition products, running gear and much more.

All race numbers must be picked up at the Health and Fitness Expo. Race number pick-up is not available on race day. Your race number is your concert ticket.
